The verdict

La Bergerie is the easiest lunch with a view to reach from the centre: the Planpraz gondola leaves from the top of town. The chalet is at 2,000 metres, with a south-facing terrace facing Mont Blanc.

Its Google rating of 4.3 from more than 600 reviews is decent for a mountain restaurant.

On the menu

Wood-fired meat and Savoyard specialities, with an open fire for cold days. The restaurant belongs to the Maison des Drus, which also runs L'Adret and Le 3842.

Allow €25 to €45 for a main course in a mountain brasserie, a rough guide and not a published price.

Our advice

The restaurant has two sittings, at noon and at 2pm: book one of them. Add the lift to your budget, €25 return for a pedestrian.
