The verdict

La Maison Carrier is the best answer to "where can I eat Savoyard food without the folklore". The Hameau Albert 1er rebuilt the spirit of an old Alpine farmhouse here, in old wood, around slow-cooked recipes.

With 4.6 from more than 1,400 Google reviews, it is one of the best-rated traditional restaurants in town.

On the menu

Country cooking, grandmother-style according to the house: long-cooked dishes, cheese specialities and cured meats. The restaurant owes its setting to Pierre Carrier, a lover of mountain architecture.

Our advice

This is the address for a Savoyard family dinner, more refined than the restaurants on the pedestrian streets. Book for the evening, and ask for a table near the fire in winter.
